Although we began trading in the year 2000, company owner Richard North had previously spent 8 years working for Everest as a roofline and cladding installer. Feeling we could offer products and installations of the same quality, we sought to provide a service that was more affordable and increasingly centred around the needs of the customers.
External Insulation
Your home can be insulated externally with external insulation. External wall insulation is a layer of insulation that is installed and fixed to the existing walls of your home. External wall insulation, or thermal cladding, can bring many benefits to your home.
We can fit insulation material to the external wall of your home at the same time as installing Hardie® Plank cladding. With external wall insulation, you can radically save on your heating bills and improve heat and thermal performance.
External wall insulation is also ideal for homes with solid walls that do not have the option for cavity wall insulation. Solid wall insulation gives an increased thermal performance.
Greater Thermal Efficiency
Some properties are constructed with single skin brick or block work, which can be prone to cause damp or cold conditions. Installing insulation combined with Hardie® Plank cladding is a convenient and perfect way to increase thermal efficiency.
A fully insulated home compared to a non-insulated home can reduce heating costs by typically 40-50%, so insulating your home makes sense. How do you install external insulation?
With many years’ experience in installing insulation and cladding, we fit an underlayer thermal insulation system to the external walls of the building that will increase the thermal performance of your home. Using high quality insulation material, the external insulation is tailored and customised to your building.
Next, we install the Hardie® Plank cladding which increases thermal efficiency.
These combined layers protect against heat loss and offer quality weather protection for your home.
Because we install this insulation system at the same time as the cladding, there is minimal disruption and the process is quicker.
Is there a specific building type for external wall insulation?
No. Any type of building and solid wall can be fitted with external wall insulation. Whether your home is a timber framed construction, or has external walls constructed of brick, masonry, concrete or block materials, we can provide wall insulation for it.
Are there any other benefits of external wall insulation?
Adding external wall insulation, compared to internal wall insulation, means that there are no reductions in your internal floor area and space.
Having both external wall insulation and Hardie® Plank cladding installed at the same time means there is no further disruption.
As well as improving the external appearance of your home with cladding, external wall insulation provides much greater heat efficiency.
What insulation do you use and install?
We use high quality Quinn Therm QF PIR Insulation Boards that gives excellent, life-long thermal performance. It exceeds the performance criteria of national and European Standards.
The insulation is extremely durable and consists of a core of polyisocyanurate foam with bonded foil facings. It is a fibre-free board, with a rigid thermoset insulation core and faced on both sides with a low emissivity composite foil facing.
The insulation boards’ gas filled cells give QF its high thermal performance and strength, and its foil facings maximises performance for all types of installation. It’s an ideal solution for insulation refurbishments and reduces heat loss.
This insulation is also sustainable and environmentally friendly, achieving an A+ BRE Green Guide rating and Zero Ozone Depletion Potential (ODP) & Global Warming Potential (GWP) <5.
